IALD United Kingdom
The IALD currently facilitates over 30 geographic Regions and Chapters within them that support the interests of our diverse lighting, design, and architecture communities. These interconnected networks provide a way to connect with like-minded individuals, create meaningful programs, and build communities that transcend borders.
In recognition of these hard-working collectives, we celebrate the IALD United Kingdom Chapter, who involve and engage with those in England, Scotland, and Wales.
They work in and among prestigious design firms, collaborate closely with regional manufacturers, contribute to local conferences and trade shows (e.g., the upcoming Light24 Expo), and arrange fascinating events of varied scale throughout the year that provide ongoing professional development and inspiration to local lighting designers.
Led by two dynamic volunteer coordinators, we appreciate the energy and engagement this busy chapter continuously demonstrates!
- Beatrice Bertolini, Jr. Assoc. IALD studied at the Politecnico di Milano, where she received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Architecture. Her passion for architectural lighting began when she moved to Gent as part of an exchange program, fascinated with the spectacle of lighting in city festivals, temporary installations and performances. She has been an IALD member since 2018, an IALD UK Chapter coordinator since 2023, and is an Associate with the design firm Equation Lighting Design.
- Kevin Rosenstand, Assoc. IALD earned his Master's degree in Lighting Design at Aalborg University Copenhagen, fascinated by architectural lighting's ability to create atmosphere. Through an internship and employment in Paris and Brussels, his career journey has also encompassed lighting with a focus on biodiversity, entertainment and artistic lighting. He now lives and works in London with the design firm 18 Degrees.
