The IALD International Lighting Design Awards

About the IALD Awards

Receiving an IALD Award is universally heralded as the top honor in the lighting design industry. Since its inception in 1983, the IALD International Lighting Design Awards has honored lighting design that reaches new heights, moves beyond the ordinary, and represents excellence in aesthetic and technical design achievement.

The pursuit of an IALD Award begins with the open Call for Entries for that year. Design firms are encouraged to submit eligible projects through the IALD website platform within the provided submission timeframe. The determination of what projects are admissible and the conditions that must be met to enter a project are based on the Awards Guide for that year.

For reference, interested firms can review the IALD Awards Guide from the 2023 cycle to gain an understanding of the criteria that must be met, and the information about each project that must be prepared in order to submit a valid entry:

Now in its 40th year, the IALD International Lighting Design Awards is the longest-running award program that recognizes architectural lighting design excellence.
