IALD Education Trust

The IALD Education Trust Fund has entered into a partnership with the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) to offer a one-week Workshop for Teachers of Lighting.  The next workshop is scheduled for the summer of 2005.

Mission and Rationale -- The summer Workshop for Teachers of Lighting is designed to provide instruction in the basic skills of the art and science of lighting to teachers who regularly teach lighting courses in academia.  The program combines classroom presentations and studio hands-on assignments.  The first workshop was held in 1984 and ten subsequent workshops have been held.  Participants are involved each day in workshop activities from 8:00 a.m. until late in the evening.  The setting is a residence environment at the New England Center for Continuing Education in Durham, New Hampshire. Sleeping, dining, class, and studio accommodations are in one facility.

  • Outdoor Lighting

  • Point and Average Calculations

Who Should Apply? -- Faculty with continuing responsibility in departments of interior design, engineering, architecture, theater, science, and technology are encouraged to apply.
