
"FORRRRE" WAYS TO PARTICIPATE
Take part in the first ever IALD Education Trust Golf-A-Thon. Help raise significant funds to support and encourage undergraduate and graduate education in architectural lighting design to insure and enhance future growth and development of the independent lighting design profession.
Register now for a whirlwind day of golf in support of lighting design education at the first ever IALD Education Trust Golf-a-Thon on 11 May 2010 in Las Vegas. This isn't your standard golf tournament - participants will zip across the course, playing as many as 90 holes in one day, all in support of the activities of the IALD Education Trust.
1. GOLF
Registered golfers must commit to raise a minimum of $3000 USD in pledges prior to the event in support of their completing 36, 54, 72 or 90 holes, or pledge a donation in their own name. Participation is limited to the first 40 golfers who commit to raise the minimum donation
2. PLEDGE
Find a participating golfer and contribute a donation to help the golfers meet their pledge goal. For a complete list of golfers please contact Kelly Ashmore.
3. SPONSOR
There are sponsorship opportunities for everyone with prices varying from $300.00 USD for a Hole Sponsorship to $4500.00 USD for the Title Sponsor.
4. VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are needed to assist with registration and other duties on the course, including volunteers to drive golf carts for each participating golfer.

About the IALD Education Trust

Conducts studies and research to justify and define the benefits of quality lighting, such as research regarding the metrics of quality.

Produces and provides teaching tools for the purpose of educating professional lighting designers, students, educators, and persons in related fields.

Assists universities in teaching lighting design through the distribution of kits in optics and lamp color, currently to a test program of 20 schools. Light meters have been distributed in the past to over 100 schools to provide students with equipment knowledge and hands-on expertise they may not experience without the IALD Education Trust.

Biannually, the IALD Education Trust develops a CD of IALD International Lighting Design Award winners to share with lighting design educators, featuring downloadable lighting drawings and additional project details.
