The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its Website, and to protect their privacy, IALD has implemented the following policy.
What Information Does IALD Collect?
From IALD and LIRC Members - IALD collects data from its members in four ways: (1) for the IALD Member Directory, (2) for the Lighting Industry Resource Council (LIRC) Member Directory (3) for the ""Find a Lighting Designer?Market Place listings (IALD Professional and Associate members only), and (4) for on-line meeting registrations. Additionally, IALD and LIRC members are asked to provide their login and password information to access the Members Only section of the Website. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by e-mail or a special announcement placed on the Website.
From Visitors - IALD does not collect any personal information from users browsing its Website. Only aggregate data is collected from visitors to the ""Find an IALD Lighting Designer?section ?including profession and state/province/country. Aggregate data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.
Meeting/Conference Registrants and Other Customers - Individuals who register on-line for meetings or conferences, or who make an on-line purchase of an IALD product, are asked to provide information necessary to complete the transaction, such as name, member number (for members), organization name, business phone, and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to IALD through printed membership applications, conference or seminar registration, publication orders, and subscriptions. This information is not sold or distributed in any manner.
How Does IALD Use Data Collected?
Credit Card Account Information - IALD does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, IALD submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.
Disclosures to Third Parties – IALD makes available to all member and non-member Website visitors information collected for the LIRC Member Directory and the IALD Market Place listings (Professional and Associate Members only). IALD also may incorporate information users provide into hard copies of the LIRC Member Directory, IALD Member Directory, and IALD Market Place listings, which IALD may provide to members and requesters. Occasionally, IALD may make its membership list available to select vendors. However, all IALD members have the right to ""opt-out"" of the mailing list availability by selecting that option in the membership profile.
Does IALD Use Cookies?
IALD and LIRC members are asked to provide their login and password information to access the Members Only section of the Website, and that information is retained for the duration of the time the user is navigating the Members Only section ?the retention of this information during the time that the user is navigating the Members Only section is called a ""per-session?cookie (if the IALD or LIRC member leaves the Members Only section of the Website and wishes to return to the Members Only section, the login and password information may be required again). IALD does not use ""persistent?cookies, which retain a user's information on the hard drive for future use.
What Privacy Issues Arise With Links To Other Sites?
This Website contains links to other Websites. IALD has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such sites.
What Means Of Redress Are Available?
