USITT COMMISSIONER'S GRANT ENABLES IALD EDUCATION TRUST TO SUPPORT ATTENDANCE OF THEATRICAL LIGHTING DESIGN STUDENTS TO IALD ENLIGHTEN AMERICAS 30 AUGUST 2010, CHICAGO, IL USA - The United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) has announced the IALD Education Trust as the recipient of its $10,000 USD Commissioner's Grant. The USITT Commissioners Grant will allow the IALD Education Trust to support the attendance of ten theatrical lighting design students at IALD Enlighten Americas 2010, providing students with exposure to the architectural lighting design profession and allowing them an opportunity to network with architectural lighting designers, participate in hands-on workshops and receive portfolio reviews.

MOMA'S PAOLA ANTONELLI ANNOUNCED AS KEYNOTE FOR IALD ENLIGHTEN AMERICAS CONFERENCE The IALD is pleased and honored to announce design expert Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York, NY USA, as the 2010 IALD Enlighten Americas keynote speaker.
Named one of the 25 most incisive design visionaries by TIME magazine, Antonelli will kick off this year's highly anticipated conference and set the tone with an inspiring, design-focused keynote address during the Welcome and Opening General Session on Friday, 8 October.

26TH ANNUAL IALD INTERNATIONAL LIGHTING DESIGN AWARDS ANNOUNCED Nineteen winning projects representing projects from 11 countries comprise the winners of the 26th Annual International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) International Lighting Design Awards Winners, recognized at a presentation held 6 May at the Sheraton NYC Hotel & Towers in New York City, NY USA. Of the 19 projects recognized, three entries earned Special Citations, 13 earned Awards of Merit and three earned Awards of Excellence. The highest point score winner across all categories, in addition to receiving an Award of Excellence for their project, receives The IALD Radiance Award for Excellence in Lighting Design.
