LIRC Member Benefits

LIRC membership provides an opportunity to collaborate and network with the top professional lighting designers through out the world. IALD members recognize LIRC member companies as those manufacturers committed to supporting and working with independent specifiers.

LIRC members are recognized in IALD publications, at trade shows and at association meetings. In addition, LIRC members are listed in the IALD Directory, website, and newsletter. These are exclusive opportunities available only to LIRC members.

In order to assist LIRC members in communicating with lighting designers, the IALD also provides LIRC members with the IALD membership list. This list normally sells for $750 (US). As important as these marketing and networking opportunities are, the collaborative relationship between the LIRC and IALD is of primary value in addressing the pressing issues in the design world.

Representation

Each member of the LIRC is asked to appoint one voting representative to the Council. This representative is the primary contact for the member company, votes at the LIRC annual meeting in November, and is eligible to serve on the LIRC Steering Committee. The LIRC is governed by a Steering Committee composed of four members of the LIRC and four members of the IALD. The Steering Committee meets two to three times a year. A manufacturer may be represented on more than one standing committee of the LIRC and may ask other representatives to serve on those committees on the company's behalf.
