LIGHTING PROFESSIONALS FROM AROUND THE WORLD ATTEND IALD EDUCATION TRUST BENEFIT DINNER TO CELEBRATE THE FUTURE OF THE INDUSTRY AS WELL AS EXCELLENCE IN LIGHTING DESIGN


 

Lighting professionals from across the globe gathered to celebrate lighting design education and excellence in lighting design at the 2010 IALD Education Trust Benefit Dinner & 27th Annual IALD International Lighting Design Awards presentation at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel on Thursday, 13 May 2010 in Las Vegas, NV USA. More than 400 attendees enjoyed an evening of celebration as the 27th Annual IALD International Lighting Design Awards were announced.
Of the 23projects recognized, three entries earned Special Citations, 12 earned Awards of Merit and eight earned Awards of Excellence. The highest point score winner across all categories, in addition to receiving an Award of Excellence for their project, received The IALD Radiance Award for Excellence in Lighting Design. "Year after year, we receive projects from around the globe demonstrating the high standards to which architectural lighting designers adhere," said IALD President Kathy Abernathy, IALD. "In recognizing the best of these projects, the IALD is significantly advancing the value and stature of architectural lighting design."


Funds from the IALD Education Trust Benefit dinner are used throughout the year to support lighting education around the world. "Many outstanding IALD members, LIRC members and other manufacturers contribute t
o this event year after year, enabling the IALD Education Trust to continue to support our industry's future," said Mark Roush, IALD Education Trust President.
