LIGHTPLAY
LightPlay is a hands-on student lighting charette envisioned and executed by the IALD Education Trust. LightPlay takes place on Thursday, 22 September before the President's Opening Reception. Last year, students used filters, flashlights and fruit in various locations to discover and document how light moves, reacts and shapes an environment. NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
Perhaps the most valuable part of attending IALD Enlighten Americas is the chance to network with other students and with lighting professionals from around the world. Students can expect to have the opportunity to network during sponsored evening events, networking breaks and a special Young Professionals Networking Hour on Friday evening.
STUDENT PORTFOLIO REVIEWS
Each year students are encouraged to bring their portfolios to be reviewed by industry professionals during breaks between sessions. Students take advantage of this time to discuss their ideas, past and current projects, and even seek potential internships and/or jobs!
LIGHTING WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS
IALD Enlighten Americas student attendees enjoy a special lighting workshop planned especially for them. In past years students analyzed IALD award winning projects and developed product concepts for off-the-grid energy generation. The Lighting Workshop for Students will take place on Friday, 23 September 2011 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. More details to come.
